NASP Southern California Chapter
Day of Education in Private Equity for Trustees and Staff
Wednesday, March 28, 2012
Davidson Conference Center at the University of Southern California
Event Background
The Second Annual NASP Southern California Chapter’s Day of Private Equity Education is a day-long educational conference designed to address the on-going informational needs of pension fund, endowment, foundation trustees and staff and their legal counsel on today’s critical investment issues.
Our Definition of Private Equity
For our purposes, private equity encompasses several investment strategies including: venture capital, leveraged buyouts, mezzanine, distressed and secondaries.
Presentations will be made and discussions led by experienced private equity market participants. There will be something for everyone, no matter the level of knowledge and experience in the asset class. For instance, some presentations will be designed to enhance audience understanding of key issues at an executive level of detail, while others will involve more sophisticated, detailed discussion on particular issues. There are some sessions focused on the legal issues and the Institutional Limited Partner Association Principals that investment staff, consultants, in-house counsel, fund formation attorneys and outside counsel will find helpful.
Event Date and Location
As mentioned previously, the event will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Set in an academic setting at the University of Southern California’s Davidson Conference Center in Los Angeles. We will start with breakfast at 7.00 am and officially begin the program at 8.15 am. The event will run throughout the day and end with a reception to take place at the Davidson Center.

Investment education, whether for market participants or the high school students in our FAST Track program, is of the utmost importance to us.
