Foundation & Endowment
Minority & Women-owned Fund RoundUp

Capital + Commitment + Connections

January 23 – 24, 2012
SLS Hotel, Los Angeles, CA

Minority and women-owned investment managers are delivering top quartile returns; yet, too few foundations, endowments or non-profits are actively pursuing diverse investment managers as investment partners.

The Foundation & Endowment Minority & Women-owned Fund Roundup will showcase seasoned minority and women-owned investment management firms and spark a dialogue among presidents, trustees and investment professionals representing foundations and endowments.

Capital + Commitment + Connections

Together, we will explore the fiscal value proposition and commitment of investing with experienced diverse investment managers—and provide both GPs and LPs with a forum for starting a meaningful dialogue.

We’re pleased to announce Senator Curren D. Price, Jr., California State Assembly and Timothy Alan Simon, Commissioner, California Public Utilities Commission will be in attendance  to help kick start the events.  Senator Price will give remarks at our opening reception with insights into California Senate Bill 294 dictating that the state’s largest public pension funds must establish five-year strategic plans for emerging investment manager participation across all asset classes. Commissioner Alan will start the morning session off sharing his experience with recent efforts to mitigate barriers to emerging and diverse firms in California’s public utility companies.

We are also pleased to present the State of Diversity Roundtable featuring senior leaders from foundations and endowments who will share their perspectives on how their organizations have brought greater diversity into every facet of their operation, including:

Robert K. Ross, Ph.D., President & CEO – The California Endowment

William C. Bell, President & CEO – Casey Family Programs

Luz Vega-Marquis, President & CEO – Marguerite Casey Foundation

Throughout the day, you will benefit from an open, interactive setting designed to foster connections, address the real opportunities and perceived barriers of investing with diverse managers. Candid, peer-to-peer conversation and direct exposure to a select group of highly qualified minority and women-owned funds are what sets the Foundation & Endowment Minority & Women-owned Fund Roundup apart.
