The Bootcamp Agenda
Our afternoon forum is geared for emerging managers with 36 months or less experience in the marketplace. The goal? Prepare managers for succeeding in a competitive investment (and fundraising) environment.
The workshop is fast-paced and action-oriented with each session designed to deliver advice and expertise for tackling day-to-day issues and opportunities.
2:00 – 2:10 pm | Welcome
2:10 – 3:00 pm | Funding Spectrum: Navigating Your Way
Our focus will be on building fundraising know-how—and identifying new sources of capital beyond the traditional and predictable. We will explore funding strategies, including what sources of institutional capital to pursue at differing stages of a fund’s maturation. From seeding platforms and angels to family offices, foundations, endowments and pension plans—each will be examined, discussed and game plan strategies mapped out.
3:00 – 3:15 pm | networking break
Sponsored by:
Pension Consulting Alliance
3:15 – 4:15 pm | The REAL Big Pitch
We’re orchestrating a live pitch session—with real, positive outcomes for one stand-out manager. The session will be modeled after an LP/GP due diligence session, with our panel of peppering selected emerging managers. The outcome—one emerging manager will move on to a scheduled meeting with one or more members of our LP panel for funding consideration. We know that making it through the due diligence phase is a critical milestone for firms of all sizes, and that it is a juncture where many emerging funds fall short. This session will prepare emerging managers for that stage—and more. Interested in presenting? We’ll select up to four managers from Bootcamp registrants to participate in this unique pitch session.
4:30 – 5:00 pm | Table Talk / Round I
Small groups of emerging managers will huddle with “graduated” managers, consultants, institutional investors, fund of funds to tackle some key operational and growth challenges. Time, relevant topics and candid perspectives shape the Bootcamp’s final sessions. Two rounds allow you to select and learn more about two key issues.
